(303) 289-7078 Provides housing, support, advocacy and assistance for women who are making the transition from leaving a battering relationship and working to establish an independent living situation. Services may involve costs, depending upon job training, child care, and other living arrangements necessary. Office hours are 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Monday through Friday. Alternatives To Family Violence 24 Hour Number (303) 289-4441 Provides the following services to victims and family members of victims of domestic violence: 1) 24 hour crisis hotline 2) Emergency shelter for victims and their children (45 day stay limit) 3) Emotional support, assistance, referrals and information regarding the criminal and civil justice systems and resources for victims in or out of shelter. 4) Group counseling for victims and children while in shelter 5) Group counseling for victims and children out of shelter 6) Group counseling for domestic violence perpetrators There is no charge for calls to the 24 hour crisis hotline. Shelter services involve bartering services for the length of stay (i.e. responsible for preparing two dinner meals a week, exchanging child care, etc.) Counseling services are on a sliding scale fee based on the client=s ability to pay. Bi-lingual counselors for victims are available. Counseling services are offered in the evenings and on weekends. The shelter is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 52 weeks a year. Must ask specifically for the Victim Assistance Program when requesting services. Services through the Victim Assistance Program are at no cost to the victim. Advocates may be called to respond to crime scenes to provide direct services to victims. Services are offered at no cost to the victims and are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Community Reach Center (303) 853-3500 Provides 24 hour hotline assistance for victims or perpetrators who feel they may be a danger to themselves or others. Also provides individual, group and family counseling to victims of domestic violence on a sliding scale fee. Will assist victims in applying for Crime Victim Compensation. Bi-lingual counselors are available. Counseling services are offered at the Thornton, Brighton, and Westminster office sites. The Victim Counseling Program is a grant funded program available to victims who do not qualify for crime victim compensation. This program can be accessed through Lisa Walsh, (303) 853-3825. ATime and Space for Moms and Kids@ is a program designed specifically to assist domestic violence victims and their children. It is facilitated by T. J. Price, (303) 853-3646. Community Reach Center Website Return to Top↑ Crime Victim Compensation (303) 655-3825 Offers limited financial assistance to victims of domestic violence and their children for expenses directly related to a crime when a report is made to a law enforcement agency. Requires completion of an application which is available from law enforcement agency victim assistance programs or the district attorney's office. Compensation funds are derived from surcharges levied by the court on criminal convictions. There is no financial need determination to apply for or receive compensation. Offers assistance and information for non-English speaking victims and perpetrators of domestic violence, including, but not limited to, translation, court advocacy and immigration concerns. Ask specifically for the Victim Assistance Program. There is no charge for services through the Victim Assistance Program. Includes an eight week program for young men and boys who have witnessed or experienced violence. Offers advocacy and assistance to victims of domestic violence in obtaining restraining orders, divorces and emergency protective orders through the civil court system. Also provides referrals for housing, financial, further legal and counseling resources. Restraining order and divorce clinics are offered at a minimal or at no cost to the client.
