Judge Cox graduated from the University of  Denver in Denver, Colorado  in with a Bachelor of  Arts Degree in Political Science and Philosophy.  He graduated from the University of Denver College of Law in Denver, Colorado in 1979.  He was admitted to the practice of law in May, 1981.  Before becoming a judge, Judge Cox was in a private law practice.  He was appointed as a County Court Judge by Governor Roy Romer in 1995.
