What is the Seventeenth Judicial District Truancy Reduction Initiative?

The Seventeenth Judicial District Truancy Reduction Initiative is a collaborative project involving the Adams County Truancy Reduction Consortium and the Boulder Valley School District intending to reduce the incidence of truancy in the Seventeenth Judicial District.

The Seventeenth Judicial District Truancy Reduction Initiative incorporates multidisciplinary professional intervention for families seeking to enhance the likelihood of educational success for children who are currently at risk of failing academically or dropping out of school due to chronic truancy.

The Seventeenth Judicial District Truancy Reduction Initiative is an innovative attempt to reduce the consequences of truant behavior.  A recent study showed that every child that fails to graduate from high school in Adams County costs the citizens of the county an average of $208,000 over that child's lifetime.  This initiative is intended to impact the problem of truancy and eliminate the social costs associated with truant behavior.
