What is the Seventeenth Judicial District Family Advocacy Center?

The Seventeenth Judicial District Family Advocacy Center is a virtual resource center for victims of spousal abuse, child abuse, and for families seeking resources to assist them in dealing with problems involving a variety of issues.  The resources which are provided on this page are intended to provide assistance in many areas of concern to our families and communities with the hope of reducing abusive behavior, preventing juvenile delinquency, and promoting safer communities.

This Family Advocacy Center is the result of collaborative, multi-disciplinary Minority Over-Representation Committee meetings funded by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention.  This process has resulted in the identification and development of several community based  resources which are intended to promote healthier and safer communities.

"I have learned this at least by my experiment: that if one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavours to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours."

Henry David Thoreau

Nobody needs to lead a life filled with violence.  Seek the assistance you need and you can live the life you have imagined.
